IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ

-This is an alpha stage release for gameplay testing only. Please do not distribute, release screenshots or run it on a public server. (I'd also appreciate it if you could refrain from telling anyone about the rappelling -I'd like that to be a suprise when the map comes out.

-100% of the lighting, sounds, doors & windows and 95% of the textures are temporary, as are 75% of the details. Most of the details that have been added are just crude mockups or prefabs from my other maps, pasted in to give some idea of the function of each room. The outside areas (including the skybox and the exterior surfaces of the hotel) are also temporary. I've plonked in bits and pieces of buildings from another map I'm working on to make it a bit more interesting-looking for the purposes of this test, but eventually the whole of the outside will be completely redone. The final skybox will probably have a "city at sunset" feel and the hotel will be surrounded by landscaped gardens and other buildings. I'll probably also add a rooftop garden to give you something to look at as you're rappelling down from the chopper.

-Performance of the finished map should be significantly better than this version, even after I've added lots more detail. At present there are LOADS of unoptimised textures, redundant brushes and very little hinting or mitering so fps should be much higher after I've optimised everything. I also haven't done much tweaking of the bots yet, so their AI should also improve. In the meantime, if you're trying the map with bots, I recommend opening all doors as you run round, and leaving them open.



BACKGROUND

-This map is very loosely based on the storming of the Iranian Embassy by the SAS in 1980 (an operation codenamed Nimrod), although the action here takes place in a hotel rather than an embassy. So far TDM, TS, C&H and CTF are supported with a maximum of 20 players.



GAMEPLAY TIPS

-To begin rappelling, face the helicopter/wall and hit your back key.

-Killer dogs patrol the hotel grounds -I wouldn't go out there if I was you.

-All the single wooden doors in the map are fakes (i.e. won't open) apart from the two in the red flag room and the one with the darker metal plate which leads into the bedroom (SW2). From there you can open the french window onto the small balconies, jump across them and re-enter the building through the french window by the Southwest stairs.

-Because the minimap is of limited use in a level like this (only showing the middle floor), I've added info in the location tags to give you an idea whereabouts in the building a radio message comes from e.g. "Kitchen NW2" indicates the speaker is on the North West side of the second floor whereas "Office C3" would indicate they are in the Centre of the third floor.

-This version of the map includes prototype bomb mode support. As func_walls are not currently functioning, you'll see a temporary bomb marker in all game modes.
