* LEVEL DESCRIPTION *

Here's a basic rundown of my map, UT_CONWAY. It's a 3 floor office building modelled to scale from a real office (using AutoCAD drawing's to get the correct scale and dimensions). All textures are original and were made by me using a digital camera and a lot of lunch-time photography. There are two main office floors, complete with ringing phones, desks, plants, bookshelves etc. These two floors are connected via two crossing stairwell's, the air conditoner return air and a hole that's been bombed in the floor of one of the corner rooms. Above the two main floors is the air conditioner plant room. Exit's from this room include the aircon return air column, the stairwell and the aircon ceiling ducts. I've also used lighting and shadows to create a night time atmoshere while also allowing for more stealthy and tactical urban gameplay (think of the movie THE NEGOTIATOR). The desks are at a perfect height so that if you crouch, you can be nicely hidden behind the partitions. All up, its a fairly compact and different map to most that have been made before and should make for a refreshing change to the typical 'rambo' style play most maps accomodate. Bad luck guys, you might have to actually think when you play my map ;)

This level requires Urban Terror (http://www.urbanterror.net) to be experienced
properly, although you can load the map and run around in regular Q3A.

This map is the very first map I have ever created so be nice. It's been almost
a whole year in development (on and off) and well... here it is.

* INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS *
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Extract ut_conway_beta1.ZIP and place ut_conway_beta1.PK3 in "X:\quake3\q3ut2\" (where 'x' is your drive letter)

3. Load UT and in the console type: "map ut_conway"
Or, if you'd like to play w/ bots:
1. Load UT and make sure bots are enabled (type "bot_enable 1" in the console)
2. Select "start server" from the main menu.
3. Select your gametype (CTF, TDM, TS, etc.), then select "ConWay - BETA 1.0" from the map list
4. Select the bots you want for each team and any other settings I've left out.
5. Hit "next", join a team after the map loads, and enjoy.

*** The bots have been a bit stuffed since 2.6a so dont be surprised if they act funny.

CONSTRUCTION TIME : Hmmmmm, on and off for about a year. First started using GTK in june2002 and this is still the first map I've ever made.
BRUSH COUNT : ~8000
ENTITY COUNT : ~600
KNOWN BUGS : Probably high r_speeds in places + Textures very high quality.

COMPILE MACHINE : AMD athlon 1333 (overclocked 1200), 512mb ram, Geforce3 ti200
RECOMEDNED FOR PLAY : 1000MHZ+ - geforce2+ - lots of RAM (384mb is good)

Compile time : 564 sec.
Brush Count : 5737
Entity Count : 2322

From the Urban Terror manual:
"Unlike Quake 3 Arena, Urban Terror requires the
gamer to allocate more resources in order to run
the mod without memory issues. You might need to
modify your seta com_hunkMegs "128" or higher if
you cannot play the mod or particular maps."

Due in part to the new memory requirements of Urban
Terror 2.6 (gg insanely large lr300 skin, etc.),
you may need to set your "com_hunkmegs" to a value
greater than 70 (as suggested by SID, 128 is probably
ideal). You'll still be able to load the map at the
highest visual quality with com_hunkmegs set at 64,
but taking a screenshot at resolutions higher than
800x600 may crash the map with a tempmemory error.

If you have suggestions for future improvements to the map, don't hesitate to
let me know.
